Cottage Requirements
- Floor Area = 900 – 1300 SQ FT
- 2-3 Bedrooms
- Family area with TV & Fireplace
- Kitchen with eating area
- Utility room ; Hot water tank / Furnace
- Deck with BBQ
- Appropriate Doors & Windows
- 3 Different wall types – 4′ Foundation / Main floor / Interior
- NO basement , 2nd floor & No Garage
Process
- Research 3 possible solutions of cottage floor plan designs via the internet. (houseplans.com)
- Cannot choose a square / rectangular house
- Print out floor plans (one / page) with your evaluations {Pro’s / Con’s} of each design.
- Once you have chosen your final design, you are to draw your plan in Revit. Include:
- Wall’s
- Windows & Doors
- Roof
- Full Kitchen and Bath layout
- Overall width and length of the cottage
- total square footage
- room legend
- Drawings the need to be included in your final drawing set will be :
- Cover sheet
- Foundation plan
- Main floor plan
- Roof Plan
- 4 elevations
- 2 Sections
- 2 Isometric views
- 1 Interior Rendering
- You will at this point be able to construct a 1/2″ : 1′ scale model of your cottage design, using foam board (not supplied by Mr Dischke)
- Submit a portfolio of your cottage design in a professional manner along with you completed cottage model. This portfolio will include all your research (STEP 1), sketches and drawings. It will contain a title page, table of contents, and an evaluation of your final floor plan, of how it fits the requirements.
