Electrical Safety

  1. Do not turn on power without getting teacher permission
  2. Do not work on live circuits or equipment
  3. Double check the connection of all equipment. you could damage expensive equipment.
  4. Regard all equipment as being alive until testing proves otherwise
  5. Double check the supply voltage to see that it matches the equipment requirements.
  6. Never use any of the human senses to test for electricity. There are meters made for this purpose.
  7. Electricity flow more easily when objects are wet. Avoid contact with electrical equipment when you are wet.
  8. Electricity has caused many injuries and deaths. Mainly through carelessness.
    • RESPECT IT, BUT DO NOT BE AFRAID OF IT.
    • USE IT, BUT DO NOT ABUSE IT.
  9. When in doubt about anything, ASK FOR HELP
  10. In case of Electrical Shock, if breathing has stopped, start artificial respiration immediately. Tell the teacher, & possibly the office.
